Last Tuesday, 28th November, His Majesty’s Ambassador to Spain, His Excellency Hugh Elliott, accompanied by UK Defence Attaché, Capt Stephen McGlory visited TLP to better understand TLP activities, how UK military personnel contribute to the programme’s objectives, and to meet UK personnel deployed to TLP supporting British Eurofighter Typhoons.
Upon their arrival at TLP Headquarters, they were welcomed by TLP Commandant, Luis Alberto Martínez Ruiz, TLP Warrant Officer, Albacete’s Air Base Warrant Officer and one of 14th Wing Lt Colonels.
During their visit, TLP Commandant gave H. E. Hugh Elliott and Captain McGlory a briefing on the organization, objectives and activities, as well as future TLP projects and new TLP procedures, to better understand the role of the Programme.
After the briefing, Wg Cdr Millington, UK TLP SNR, delivered an overview of the ongoing Flying Course Day mission to the visitors. Then, they were able to observe the FC 23-4 Mission Planning.
Subsequently, the British Ambassador and the UK Defense Attaché visited the TLP hangar, where they could meet the UK detachment Cdr, OC 29 Sqn. They also had the opportunity to do a walkaround in order to meet UK personnel.
To conclude the visit, His Excellency Hugh Elliott and Captain Stephen McGlory received a briefing about the British Eurofighter, after which they did a walkaround where they had the chance to see them.
