TLP FC 2024-4 will start next Monday, 11th November and will conclude on Friday 29th November, with an expected duration of 3 weeks.
The total number of personnel that will receive TLP for this course is approximately 900 people, with 37 participants eligible to graduate, including 26 Aircrew, 6 Intelligence Officers and 5 Tactical Air Controllers.
The flights will take place from Monday to Friday in the afternoon, and will start on Monday 18th November, since the first week will be dedicated to academic activities and missions in the TLP simulator (MACE).
In this case, the participating nations on the Blue side will provide a total of 22 aircraft, and will be Italy (ITA) with F-35 and EF-2000 aircraft, Germany (ALE) with Tornado and EF-2000, United Kingdom (UK) with EF-2000, Greece (GRE) with Rafale, and France (FRA) with Mirage 2000D. As for the opposing side (Red Air), there will be about 10 aircraft, EF-2000 (ALE, UK, ITA), Mirage 2000D (FRA) and Rafale (GRE).
A NATO AWACS air control aircraft will be present to support the flying course, together with Command and Control (C2) resources from the Air and Space Force.
In addition, the Spanish Air and Space Force’s MQ-9 Predator B (NR-05) unmanned aircraft, as well as specialists in personnel rescue missions, will also participate. A German JAMKITE electronic warfare aircraft will also be present.
As an anti-aircraft threat, the participation of real air defense systems of the Spanish Army, Air and Space Force, and the Navy (NASAMS, SKYGUARD, MISTRAL and MALLINA), as well as the German ROLAND system, is foreseen. Several POLYGON threat emulators, as well as the French ARPEGE system, are also expected to participate and will be deployed in different zones of the area of operations.
Regarding the intervention of additional air assets, two Italian HH101 helicopters and a French CARACAL on the BLUE side, together with their respective extraction teams, are expected to participate in the personnel rescue missions. A Spanish C295 tactical transport aircraft will also be involved. Likewise, during the flight period, a SAR helicopter will be available from the San Javier Air Base to guarantee coverage.
Finally, TLP facilities will continue using the MACE flight simulator, which allows crews to train not only in the virtual environment, but also to interact with the aircraft in real missions through modern communication protocols (Link 16).
